Join Cathy Broski for this hands-on, three-day workshop explores the integration of human and animal forms in sculpture while pushing the boundaries of abstraction. Working from sketches and reference materials, students will experiment with combining original forms, focusing on composition, storytelling, and metaphor. Emphasis will be placed on developing ideas and embracing the creative process through demonstrations, group exploration, and individual guidance. Techniques covered will include: - Coil and slab building - Hollow-form construction - Surface decoration - Developing expressive sculptural forms By the end of the workshop, students will have a deeper understanding of clay sculpture techniques and how to create expressive, emotionally engaging compositions. $250 per person, includes 3 classes, clay & firings Sponsored by Standard Clay Open to all skill levels.
