Private Raku Firing

Service Description

$200 - Horse Hair Raku Firing (1,000 degrees) includes: ● 15 to 25 pieces (depending on the size) ● 6 person maximum ● Two hours ● horse hair, feathers, and sugar if needed $250 - Glaze Raku Firing (1,860 degrees) includes: ● 15-20 pieces (depending on the size) ● 4 person maximum ● 3 hours ● newspaper, sugar, and use of firing containers Participants are provided with leather aprons, safety goggles, and heat-resistant gloves. All participants should wear closed-toed shoes and non-flammable fabrics like cotton. Long sleeves are encouraged. Please arrive 20 mins prior to firing time. All pieces will be fired together in our propane-based Laguna Super Raku kiln and taken out individually by staff once they reach temperature for participants to then experience the magic of raku.
