Herrick Smith 2-Day Workshop

Service Description

Join Herrick Smith of Smith Works Studios will lead a two-day, hands-on workshop with step-by-step construction techniques for creating wheel-thrown sectional vessels. Attendees will start by identifying their project goals and exploring possibilities with Herrick, in an interactive lesson format followed by a demonstration of key techniques including pulling large forms and preparing vessels for joining. Then the real fun begins as participants move to their own wheels to put these skills into practice, with Herrick guiding and mentoring throughout. This workshop is a two-day consecutive workshop, Saturday & Sunday. The workshops will be 4 hours long, from 9:00-1:00 pm. October 31: Class 1 November 1: Class 2 $160 per person, includes 2 classes, clay & firings *Must have some throwing ability and know how to center and pull a cylinder (we recommend you practice before attending this class).
