Hand Building

Tuesday: 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Starts October 12th

    
Various hand building techniques will be covered including basic construction techniques (coil, pinch, slab and slump molding.) Surface treatments including sgraffitto, mishima and glaze. Open to beginning and intermediate students. application/techniques will be discussed.  Cost: $95.00 Includes 25 lbs. of clay and firing.  Students can purchase glazes that best suit their needs.



Beginning Wheel
Tuesday 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM     Starts October 12th
Saturday 10:00 AM - 12:00PM     Starts October 16th
Beginning students will learn to throw on the potters wheel. Demonstrations will include wedging, throwing cylinders, bowls, cups, handles, bottles, and glazing techniques. From centering the clay to trimming and finishing, students will learn all the essential steps in creating wheel thrown pottery.  Cost: $150.00 Includes 25 lbs. of clay, glazes and firing 2,000 cubic inches of pottery in electric and gas kilns. Students can use the studio additional time during open studio hours.

 

 


Beginning and Intermediate Wheel

Thursday 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM  Starts October 16th
 

Intermediate and advanced students will refine their skills and work on altered and assembled forms. Demonstrations will include lidded jars, pouring vessels and tea pots. Glazing and slip surface decoration will be discussed. Cost: $150.00 Includes 25 lbs. of clay, glazes and firing 2,000 cubic inches of pottery in electric and gas kilns. Students can use the studio additional time during open studio hours.
