Olympic Glass Fusing furnaces are built with elements in the lid as well as in the sides, insuring even heating. The Model 1414GF is rates at cone 07 or 1700ºF and the electrical boxes have heat shields and top and bottom perforations, which keep electrical components cool during firing. The refractory firebrick absorbs and retains heat during the firing, insuring that the cooling of the glass is slow and even, essential to annealing. For best firing results, the lid element operates independently of the electronic control. In some cases, it may be desirable for the lid element to be controlled by the electronic control. The mode switch allows this choice and is available only on models equipped with an electronic control. Add the Quartz Porthole option to view firings while in progress through glass porthole.
